Why Amby

The questions everyone asks before they buy.

Fair questions, and we would rather answer them here than three meetings in.

"Can't we just use a consumer AI assistant?"

01

This is not really an AI question. A general assistant will not schedule a preventive maintenance job, demand photo evidence before a step can be signed, run an incident through to resolution, or tell you who did not finish last night. That work is the job.

02

Enterprise AI and consumer AI are different products. The difference is access control, grounding against your own documents, auditability and consistency. On a controlled floor, an answer without a citation and a permission check is not usable.

03

And even where it could help, nobody is doing it. You have machines down right now. Is the operator loading the right manual and prompting the right model, or getting a coffee and waiting for someone to show up?

"Can't we just load our own manuals?"

01

Your people watch, they do not read. A 400-page PDF is not how a technician mid-shift with gloves on solves a problem. Video is, and it always has been.

02

The manual does not know your floor. Your power disconnect is halfway across the building. Your last expert rewrote the controller. The lube point is over by Joe's station. None of that is in the OEM documentation.

03

And a document does not do the other three quarters of the job. It does not schedule anything, hold evidence, prove compliance, or roll up across sites. Documents are an input to Amby, not a substitute for it.

A stack of overstuffed technical binders on a shelf

"Our equipment isn't standard."

Test stands. Skid pumps. The machine your last engineer modified twice and never wrote down. Custom and homegrown equipment often has no OEM manual at all, which is exactly where document-based approaches run out of road. There is nothing to load.

Amby does not start from the manual. It starts from the person who knows the machine. One hour of their knowledge, captured on video, becomes the documentation that never existed.

What Amby is, and what it is not.

Not a maintenance record

Recording that a job was done is the easy part. Amby's job is getting it done correctly, with proof, by whoever is standing there.

Not a chat window

Answering questions is one of four things Amby does. The other three are training, scheduled work, and floor-level intelligence.

Not another dashboard

Dashboards tell managers what already happened. Amby is used by the person at the machine, in the moment, and the reporting falls out of that.

Enterprise credentials

What "enterprise" actually means here.

Controlled environments

Built to support the access-control and data-residency obligations of ITAR-controlled programs and HIPAA-regulated environments. ITAR and HIPAA readiness in progress, with permissions modelled on how your programs are actually partitioned.

Access control

Role and asset-based permissions. A contract technician cleared for three machines sees three machines. Access is checked on every retrieval, not just at login.

Grounded, cited answers

Every answer traces back to a document, a recording or a past repair in your own system. If Amby cannot ground it, Amby says so rather than filling the gap.

Your data stays yours

No customer's data is ever accessible to another customer. You control who sees what inside your organization, and we delete your data on request. Model-agnostic routing means you are not locked to one vendor.
